About SG5
A Texas engineering firm that picked one industry.
We started as a data and AI consultancy and went deep on aviation because that is where the work got interesting: real constraints, real consequences, and an industry that has been told about digital transformation for twenty years without much of it arriving.
Who we are
Small on purpose.
The people who scope your project are the people who build it. There is no bench, no account layer, and nobody whose job is to keep the engagement going after it should have ended.
That shapes what we take on. We would rather do three things properly than nine badly, and we will tell you when the answer is that you don’t need us — which happens often enough that it is worth saying out loud.
What we do not do is arrive with a platform and tell an operation to change to fit it. The certificate, the OpSpecs and the people are fixed. The software is the flexible part.

Approach
How an engagement actually runs.
No twelve-month discovery phase. You should see your own data doing something useful inside the first month, and you can stop after any stage without owing us the next one.
Weeks 1–2
Scope on your data
We take a real slice of your traffic — a month of requests, a year of removals — and tell you in writing what is worth building and what isn't.
Weeks 3–10
Pilot one workflow
One workflow, one team, running in parallel with what you do today. Measured against the current process rather than against a demo.
Weeks 11+
Production
Rollout with your SOPs, your roles and your training records, under change control a principal operations inspector can follow.
Ongoing
Run it
On-call, monitoring, and a roadmap reviewed each quarter against what the operation actually needs next.
How we build AI
The software prepares. A person approves.
Aviation already knows how to handle a recommendation from a system: somebody qualified signs for it. We build to that model on purpose.
Step 1
It reads what came in
An email, an RFQ, a squawk, a hazard report, a maintenance note. The system extracts the facts and shows you which line each one came from.
Step 2
It prepares the work
A priced quote, a crew swap that fits the rest rules, a triage severity with a corrective action attached — ready in front of the named person who owns that call.
Step 3
A named person approves
Nothing reaches the record until someone with the authority to sign says so. No silent write-back, and every answer carries the evidence behind it.
The line we don’t cross
Our software never turns a compliance document green, never closes a hazard report and never releases an aircraft. Those are signatures, and signatures belong to people.
Work with us
Start with two weeks.
Fixed scope, your own data, a written recommendation at the end. If the answer is that there's nothing worth building, that is a useful answer too.
